Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 July 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Civora Network platform. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1.Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Civora, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the platform.
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the platform. If you use Civora on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to act for and bind that organisation.
3.Your account
- You must provide accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- You must verify your email address before you gain full access to the platform.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
4.Roles on the platform
Accounts are either individual (volunteer) accounts or organisation accounts. Organisation accounts can have multiple team members with different roles — owner, administrator, manager, staff, and viewer — which determine what each member is permitted to do.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform. In particular, you must not:
- Post false, misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful content.
- Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Scrape, harvest, or use automated means to access the platform without our permission.
- Upload malware, or attempt to breach or circumvent our security or access controls.
- Use the platform to send spam or to harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
6.Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit — including your profile, listings, messages, reviews, and files. You grant Civora Network a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the platform. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to everything you upload.
7.Opportunities, jobs, and applications
Civora is a venue that helps connect volunteers and candidates with organisations. We are not the employer or organiser, and we are not a party to any arrangement made between users. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing, the conduct of any user, or that any application will lead to a placement or job. Organisations are solely responsible for their listings and for complying with all applicable employment and volunteering laws.
8.Reviews and feedback
Reviews must be honest, based on a genuine experience, and must not contain unlawful, defamatory, or abusive content. We may remove reviews that breach these terms or our content policies.
9.Organisation verification
A verified badge means we have carried out basic checks on an organisation. It is not an endorsement or a guarantee of that organisation's legitimacy, and you should always exercise your own judgement before engaging with any organisation or opportunity.
10.Intellectual property
The platform, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by Civora Network and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the platform except as expressly permitted by us or by law.
11.Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that pose a risk to the platform or to other users. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Some provisions of these terms, by their nature, survive termination.
12.Disclaimers
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Civora Network will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for the acts or omissions of any user or organisation. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
14.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
15.Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
